Rev. Allen Fisher, Jr.

Allen Fisher has served as the congregation’s Pastor since July  1995. A Graduate and “Fellow in Pastoral Leadership and Development” at Princeton Seminary, Allen is a member of the Presbytery of the James. A leader in the Church and community, Allen’s extensive community service, involves several denominational and community committees and boards. Allen and his wife, Christina, are the parents of four and enjoy sports, gardening and music.Read Full Biography


John Howe
Church Accountant

John Howe started as the Church Accountant in Aug. 2021. He is involved in maintaining contribution records, paying the bills, preparing payroll, maintaining the accounting system, and preparing financial statements. John is a longtime member of the church, an elder and was a former Clerk of Session. His active working career included time with the Extension service as well as work with Farm Credit.

Larry Casey
Choirmaster

Larry Casey has served as Associate Choirmaster For over a decade, and has been a choirmaster since 1972. Larry has served multiple terms as chairman for Music & Worship for the Virginia Chapter of the ACDA. Larry recently retired from a 31-year career in music education and performance. Larry has been involved with several music camps and programs, including founding several youth orchestras, one of which preformed under his direction at the Kennedy Center.

Mary Ann Casey
Choirmaster

Mary Ann Casey has served as the director of the Handbell Choirs, the Youth Choir, and the Children’s Choirs since 1992. A music educator for thirty-four years, Mary Ann was an adolescent and changing voice specialist; she has guest conducted and adjudicated for choirs throughout Virginia. She is an active member of the ACDA and served as the president of its Virginia Chapter from 2001-2003. As a harpist, Mary Ann has performed with several orchestras and choirs.

Amy L. Shirk

Amy has served as Organist of The Presbyterian Church since 1998. With 20 years of teaching experience, she now runs a very active private studio in Spotsylvania, teaching piano, organ, and saxophone. Amy was the Instrumental Music Director for eight years at Holy Cross Academy, Stafford, where she directed the band, strings, piano, and recorder programs. She currently directs FAYM- Fredericksburg Area Young Musicians – band orchestra, and music classes for homeschooled students in the greater Fredericksburg area. Amy perfroms regularly as both a soloist and accompanist in the Fredericksburg area. She lives in Spotslyvania with her husband Scott, and two sons, Brendan and Aaron. She enjoys spending time reading and traveling with her family.

John Copley

John has worked at the church as the Maintenance Supervisor since 2005. He oversees all maintenance needs, as well as renovations of the church grounds and buildings. John is a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelors of Science in Engineering, and Virginia Tech where he earned his Masters and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. John and his wife Gaye reside in Stafford and have two adult daughters.

Carole-Jean Forsing

Carole-Jean “CJ” has worked in churches for the last 30 years.  Thirteen of those years were spent as administrator at Harvest Chapel of Levant Village, in Levant, Maine.  She began working at Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church when she and her husband Bryan moved to Virginia in August of 2002 and worked there until July of 2009.  CJ and Bryan reside in Fredericksburg with their 3 cats, one, Finndlay Porter, was rescued from the storage shed on the church grounds.  They enjoy traveling whenever the opportunity arises and often seek the warmth of the Caribbean sun during the winter months.  She spends her spare time reading, upcycling and repurposing furniture and visiting with friends.
