Coordinator of Christian Education
Bruce has served as the Coordinator of Christian Education since June, 1997. Bruce has been the Director of Christian Education in Richmond, KY, DCE in Bristol, VA, and the Director of Children & Youth in Athens, GA. He became a Certified Christian Educator in 1981 and an elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1996.
Bruce received a BA degree in American history from Washington & Lee University in 1977 and a MA degree in Christian Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, VA in 1979.
He has served on a numerous presbytery committees in all four presbyteries where he has been an educator. He has directed or co-directed two Montreat Conferences on Christian Education and Youth in Montreat, North Carolina. In 2008, he served on the Christian Education Task Force for Union-PSCE and currently is on the Association fo Presbyterian Church Educators Cabinet.
Bruce is married to Bridget Harvey. They are the parents of three children: Kelly (lived for 8 months), Bryan–a high school teacher, and Brittany – who will begin a Masters of Divinty degree at Austin Theological Seminary in September, 2008. Bruce enjoys reading biographies, jogging, hiking, and golf.
