Annual PW Birthday Lunch ~ April 18

All women of The Presbyterian Church are invited to the annual Birthday Lunch on Monday, April 18, in the Fellowship Hall.  The catered lunch will start at    11:30 a.m. and the cost is $12/pp. You may RSVP by Monday, April 11, to your circle leader, Susie Davis or Debe Garrison.  The Reverend Shannon Waite of the Campus Christian Community of the University of Mary Washington will be our guest speaker.  The Birthday Lunch is a fun time of fellowship and food plus an opportunity to support the 2016 Presbyterian Women Birthday Offering.

The 2016 PW Birthday Offering theme: Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream (Amos 5:24)

Since 1922, much-needed financial assistance to many worthwhile programs around the world has been provided through this offering, which is received each spring to celebrate the blessings in the lives of Presbyterian Women.  The offering funds up to five projects that are not included in ongoing General Assembly mission support, such as agricultural development, child care, community organization, criminal justice, drug counseling, economic justice, elderly care, employment training, homelessness, literacy, violence and women’s concerns.  The only giving guidelines are “give as you are blessed.”

After reviewing numerous proposals, the Creative Ministries Offering Committee chose four projects to receive grants from the 2016 Birthday Offering.  Your gift will allow these ministries to help at-risk youth in Kansas and Florida, girls in South Sudan, and individuals living in California in manufactured homes that are in dire need of updates.  To learn more about this offering, visit www.presbyterianwomen.org.
