CCC ~ Adopt-A-Student

Would you like to get to know the UMW Campus Christian Community students better?  Have an extra seat at your dinner table every once in a while?  Why not put the two together and adopt a UMW student through our new Adopt-a-Student program!

During the Presbyterian Women’s Birthday luncheon this spring, several of the women present shared fond memories of their time as UMW students who were “adopted” by church members.  The relationships they developed were meaningful for them, and the group was excited about the possibility of restarting the program and experiencing it from the other side.  The students at the CCC are all excited about the possibility of building  connections with people in the community, as well!

If this sounds like something in which you’d like to participate, we’d love to have you!  Adopting a student could include activities like inviting them to dinner,  supporting them during crazy times of the year, keeping them in prayer, offering a place to do laundry or get away from campus – anything to build a relationship and let the student know you’re in their corner.  We are looking for a variety of people in all life places and spaces to be involved, whether you are a single person, young family, empty nester- all are welcome!

We plan to launch the program with a dinner at the church in October for all the members and students involved to meet each other and begin building  relationships.  Please let Shannon Waite (shannon@campuschristiancommunity.com), or the Church Office, 373-7057, know by August 31, if you’d like to be a part of this exciting opportunity or reach out if you’d like more information.
