Community Dinner—10 years and going strong!

On March 18, 2006, our church offered a free dinner to anyone in the community who wanted food and an afternoon of fellowship.  Since that day, our church has sponsored a Community Dinner on the 3rd Saturday of every month, adding up to 120 dinners. By the end of 2007, and in partnership with our church, Hope Presbyterian Church (Spotsylvania Presbyterian) started serving a meal in our Fellowship Hall on the 1st Saturday of the month and Resurrection Lutheran on the 5th Saturday of the month .  Now there is a free dinner available to community members every day of the week at various local churches.

Thank you to all who have been part of this important ministry through the years and for God’s sustaining presence.  Be part of the 121st dinner on March 19, 2:00-6:00 p.m.!  Contact Karen Johnson, (ksjohnson422@msn.com) to volunteer to set up, cook, make brownies, serve, play music, wash dishes, or just sit and talk to the dinner guests.  Upcoming dates are April 16, and May 21.

Greeting cards—Do you have any extra all occasion greeting cards?  We have a greeting card table at the dinners, so guests can pick up cards for their family and friends.  Bring cards to the church office.
