Help for Veterans

The Salvation Army is just one of many organizations coming together to   participate in the second annual Homeless Veteran’s Stand Down Event on November 14.  On that day, veterans will be able to access a number of important services — identification cards, job skills training, benefits assistance, food, clothing, and more.  The event is organized by the Disabled American Veterans and Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council.  The Salvation Army’s contribution is to provide warm clothing — jeans, pants, sweatshirts, sweaters — for homeless veterans or those at risk of homelessness in our area.  We are asking anyone who has gently used winter adult sized clothing to donate to take it to the Salvation Army office at 2012 Lafayette Boulevard, by November 10.
