Peacemaking Offering

Our church will receive the Peacemaking    Offering on World Communion Sunday, October 2, 2011.  The Peacemaking Offering is one of the four PC(USA) denominational offerings taken during the year – Joy Offering (December), One Great Hour of Sharing (Easter) and Pentecost (Pentecost Sunday).  The offering was created in 1980 to support the efforts of the Presbyterian Church (USA) to live out a deeper commitment to peacemaking as part of our faithfulness to God.  Each congregation keeps 25 percent to use for peacemaking efforts in the church and/or community.  The Mission Committee will determine this at its September meeting.
