Raising Children to Love Their Neighbors Advent Season

There are many possibilities for families and our preschool/elementary classes to reach out to those in need in our community during the season of Advent.

Bring food items to the food pantry – pasta, pasta sauce, dry milk, canned soups, vegetables, fruits and meats, mac & cheese dinners, ramen noodles, cereal, peanut butter, and jelly.  Volunteer to work at the pantry on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday during the Christmas holidays and give our regular volunteers a break.  Check with Bob Piersall, 373-3289.

Make food for the Community Dinner on December 18.  Volunteer to work.  Check with Karen Johnson, 371-2719.

Signup to buy gift(s) for an Angel tree child who has a parent incarcerated (sponsored by Senior Highs).

You might also check (after worship or with church office) to see if any slots remain to ring the Salvation Army bell at the Southpoint Wal-Mart on December 11 or 18.

Items for Micah Hospitality – men & women’s underwear, longjohns, gloves, stocking hats, socks – bring to the church.

Buy an animal(s) from Heifer International to help the hungry in our world as a gift for someone – see Karen Johnson.

5-cents-a-meal to give to the hungry – bring to church on December 26.

There are more possibilities – check with Bruce.
