Souper Bowl Offering

Our Middle School youth will collect the Souper Bowl Offering on Sunday, February 3.  The offering was started by a youth worker in South Carolina about 30 years ago on Super Bowl Sunday as a response to a question about the money spent on the Super Bowl and hunger.  The offering has grown each year with youth from different denominations receiving it in soup pots.  Service projects for hunger have also become part of the tradition.  Our youth ask for the generous support of the congregation for this offering to assist in paying for each of the 20,000 meals we will pack for Rise Against Hunger.
