http://fredericksburgpc.org The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg Virginia Tue, 24 Aug 2010 18:06:45 +0000 http://backend.userland.com/rss092 The Prime Timers will gather on Wednesday, September 8, at 11:30 a.m. at Ruby Tuesdays in Central Park.  We will be ordering from the menu.  This will also be our planning meeting for the year, so I encourage you to bring your ideas and to also be willing to take charge of a month.  The Prime Timers group is mostly retired members and   visitors who gather on the 2nd Wednesday of each month for an outing and lunch.  In the winter months we tend to just go to lunch.  We also usually have an overnight trip in May. http://fredericksburgpc.org/announcements/prime-timers-gathering-1575 Sunday, August 29—6th-8th Grade & 9th-12th Grade Teachers, 11:00 a.m. - Middle House Monday, August 30—Adult Teachers, 7:00 p.m. - Middle House Tuesday, August 31—Preschool & Elementary Teachers, 7:00 p.m. - Middle House   http://fredericksburgpc.org/announcements/church-school-teacher-orientation-meetings-1572 Parents of our preschoolers and elementary children are invited to an information meeting on Wednesday, September 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the Middle House.  A new program, ‘Children in Mission’ will begin in our Church School this fall.  Our children will engage in age-appropriate mission projects through the church school year.  We hope this will increase our children’s awareness of our neighbors close by and around the world.  At the meeting we will share some of the ideas and plans on ways our parents and church school can share in this effort.   http://fredericksburgpc.org/announcements/children-in-mission-parents-meeting-september-8-1569 Wednesday Night Fellowship will resume on September 15.  Dinner will be served in the Fellowship Hall from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.  Meals are prepared by members of the church or catered by local restaurants and will cost $4 for adults, $2 for children 3-11 (family maximum, $14).  We will sing hymns and play a game after the meal before being dismissed to classes and activities.  There is childcare for the youngest, and 4-year olds – 1st grade will have story time, games and movies in the library.  Our 2nd-5th graders will participate in music extravaganza with Mary Ann and Larry Casey.  Our adults may choose from cross stitching, learning to play bridge, Christian meditation, Faith & Movie class, and  Congregational Care Issues focusing on caring for loved ones and members of the church.
