Larry Casey


Larry Casey has been the Associate Choirmaster of the Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg since the spring of 1997. From 1972-74 he was a Minister of Music at the Chalybeate Baptist Church outside of Raleigh N.C. and from 1976-79 he was the Director of Music at the Warrenton Methodist Church in Warrenton VA. Larry has served two terms as Repertoire and Standard Chairman for Music and Worship for the Virginia Chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association.

Larry is a retired Music Educator of 31 years, teaching in Fauquier and Prince William Counties. In 1974, he was hired to start the Strings Program in the Fauquier County Schools. As an orchestra conductor, he has led honor orchestras around the state of Virginia. He was the founding conductor of the Fauquier Youth Orchestra and the Prince William Youth Orchestra (now known as the YOPW). The latter group performed under his direction at the Kennedy Center and at an International Youth Orchestra Festival. He has served on the Administrative Board of the Virginia Music Camp and as a conductor and Director for the Shenandoah Conservatory Performing Arts Camp.

As a violist, Larry has performed with the Charlotte Symphony, the North Carolina Symphony, the Fairfax Symphony, the Mount Vernon Chamber Orchestra, the Prince William Symphony (principal violist) and numerous others. He and Mary Ann occasionally join other musicians for area recitals, concerts, and free lance employment.
