Michelle Abel

Interim Associate Pastor

Michelle Abel was called as a part-time Interim Associate Pastor to Fredericksburg Presbyterian Church in December 2021. She previously served as the Director for Children and Youth at Arlington Presbyterian Church (2015-2017) and as the Pastoral Intern for Clarendon Presbyterian Church (2014) in Northern Virginia.

Originally from Bedford, Virginia, Michelle moved to the DC area to earn her Bachelor’s in Global Affairs/Government from George Mason University. Shortly after, Michelle traveled around the world, pursuing her Master’s in Linguistics with an added certificate in Education. However, Michelle also felt a strong calling to serve the church, and enrolled in Union Presbyterian Seminary where she earned her 2nd Master degree in Divinity in 2015.

Since graduation, Michelle has served in numerous churches and schools around Northern Virginia. She is grateful for the opportunity to minister bi-vocationally, so she can share all the gifts God has nurtured in her.

Michelle is married to Kristofer Abel, and they are very excited for the upcoming birth of their daughter, Thelma Grace, in February 2022. Currently, Michelle and Kris enjoy spending time with their cat and two miniature huskies, as well as playing music together and tinkering on their his-and-her set of antique Chevrolet Camaros.

You may contact Michelle through the church office, (540) 373-7057, or email.
