Rachel Erb

Director of Youth Ministries

Rachel began as the Director of Youth Ministries in the fall of 2015. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Journalism, where she concentrated in Advertising. Rachel is currently in her final year of the Master of Divinity degree program at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, and intends to pursue ordination as a Teaching Elder after graduation.

Prior to starting at the Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg, Rachel worked as the Director of Congregational Engagement at Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Virginia, and was a two-year Seminary Intern at Three Chopt Presbyterian Church in Richmond. She has also worked as the On-Site Director for Camp Hanover’s Summer Day Camp. Rachel was active in the Presbyterian Campus Ministry at UNC-CH, where she served on the Leadership Team her senior year.

Her interest in Youth Ministry extends back to when she herself was a youth, and has included stints on Youth Councils and Leadership Teams in a few different roles: youth participant, youth leader, adult leader, and now, director. She enjoys the opportunity to get to know youth and engage with them at such an important time in their lives, exploring together how to be better Christians, both now and for the future.

Rachel is a mountain-born Virginian, reared partly in the Tar Heel state. She enjoys singing, college football (Go Hokies!), red lipstick, reading, being near water, quality donuts, and proper grammar.

You may contact Rachel through the church office, (540) 373-7057, or email her.
