Rev. Allen H. Fisher, Jr.


Allen Fisher was installed as Pastor in July 1995. He previously served as Pastor of Stone Presbyterian Church in Wheeling, West Virginia (1986-1995) and as Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Morrisville, Pennsylvania (1981-1986).

After graduating from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1978 with a BA (magna cum laud) in Music Education, Allen enrolled in Princeton Theological Seminary where he received his Masters of Divinity in 1981. In 2003, Allen was named “Fellow in Pastoral Leadership and Development” by Princeton Seminary.

Allen is a member of the Presbytery of the James where he serves on the Administrative Committee. He served four years as a member of the Presbyteries’ Cooperative Committee on Examinations that writes and administers ordination exams of the PC(USA). As a former moderator of the Committee on Preparation for Ministry and a prior clerk of the Permanent Judicial Commission, he also has served on the Presbytery’s Committee on Ministry.

Currently on the board of Medicorp Health System, as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and a member of the Medical Affairs Committee, Allen is heavily involved in community service. He is a founding board member and former secretary of the Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region. With pastors of three downtown churches he helped begin Micah Ecumenical Ministries in Fredericksburg. He serves on the Community Service Fund of the Mary Washington Hospital Foundation. Allen is a past board member of the Fredericksburg Personal Counseling Service and former chairperson of the Department of Social Services, City of Fredericksburg.

Allen is married to Christina Lee Evans Fisher. They are the parents of Jeremy, Sarah, Rebecca, and Hannah. In his free time, Allen enjoys running, cycling, and keeping up with his athletic and musical children. A former professional studio musician, he also occasionally makes time to keep up with his musical interests.
