Missions

And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?Micah 6:8

The Mission Committee empowers the outreach ministry of the congregation by identifying and coordinating mission opportunities and dispersing needed funds to our mission partners, while developing a well-rounded mission program.

The congregation reaches out with the love of Jesus Christ to those in need with our time, tithes, and talent, and encourages the self-development of people. We have shown our commitment to mission in projects like the CROP WALK, food pantry and community dinner. About 25% of the church’s annual budget is allocated to support mission projects on local, national, and global levels. In addition, we make other contributions to local and international mission partners and organizations from our Contingency Fund. Our youth, college students and adults do yearly mission trips to various places in the U.S. and abroad.

If you are interested in international or national mission work, please talk with a chair of the Mission Committee. There are many opportunities through denominational programming to experience God at work beyond our small region of the world.

We have great hope of strengthening the work of the Mission Committee. Our goal is to develop awareness of Christ’s work in the world, to help you find your passion in God’s mission, and to provide more opportunity for hands-on mission. These opportunities not only give you the pleasure of helping your neighbors, but we hope will draw you into a deeper understanding of your purpose in the body of Christ and of God’s work in the world.
