About the Sacred Dance Ensemble
Worship leaders in dance offer movement during worship as a visual interpretation of the anthems and scriptures. Dancers of all ages bring movements to the liturgy by dancing the Prelude, the Call to Worship, the Prayer of Adoration, the Confessional Response, the lessons in Psalms and Old and New Testaments, the Lord’s Prayer, or the Benediction.
The Sacred Dance Ensemble of Fredericksburg is an ecumenical Christian ministry. These people have been called to use movement as an instrument to glorify God, to nurture each other’s faith, and to witness God’s love to the world. They dance in Protestant and Catholic churches, retirement centers, nursing homes, schools and in ceremonies of baptism, marriage and installation.
The Ensemble is supported by The Presbyterian Church. Rehearsal is on Sundays afternoons from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Undercroft (basement of the Sanctuary). Christians of any church affiliation are welcome. Dance experience is helpful but not necessary. If God has called your name to praise Him with dance, come!
