Beyond Sunday Morning LIFT

Living In Faith Together (LIFT) is more than just what happens on Sundays. Faith formation happens in weekly Bible studies and reflection groups and monthly or seasonal gatherings for conversations on and off campus.

New participants are always welcome. Join us as we explore our faith together! 

Weekly Groups

  • Keep it Moving: Body and Soul - Mondays

  • Men's Breakfast Group - Tuesdays

    Join us Tuesdays at 7:30 AM in the 2nd floor Conference Room of the Education Building (or via Zoom) for fellowship, breakfast, devotions, and fellowship. Bring your own breakfast. We usually end between 8 and 8:30, but feel free to leave earlier, if necessary.

  • Walking Group - Tuesdays

    We walk local hiking trails and through various city neighborhoods, usually for around five miles.

  • Meditation Group - Wednesdays

    The Christian Meditation Group has been meeting for 26 years with somewhere around 8-12 people who gather weekly to meditate, pray and share together. 

    Our usual practice is Lectio Divina which means “divine reading” of sacred scripture, particularly the Bible for the purpose of “Listening to God”.  It is a time the group treasures “to rest in the presence of God” in community. Or as David implores in Psalm 46, “Be still and know that I am God”.

    We meet weekly with shared leadership and though some come almost every week others come when they are able. 

    There is no preparation or study and no experience in meditation is necessary. 

    All are welcome.


  • Ladies' Thursday Morning Bible Study - Thursday

    We meet at 9:30 am for fellowship and refreshments and begin our bible study at 10:00 am. We are continuing our reading and exploration of the miracles of Jesus in chronological order during his ministry. We examine where the miracle took place, the different Gospel accounts of the same miracle, who was with Jesus, who received the miracle, and the significance both then and now. Bring your bible and join us at any time.

  • Lectionary Lunch - Thursdays

Monthly Groups

  • Youth Group

    2nd and 4th Sundays, 5:30pm - 7:30pm

    Location: Fellowship Hall

    All 6th-12th graders are welcome to join us for dinner, faith discussions and games!  We also serve with the congregation and attend youth conferences.


  • Neverending Circle

    3rd Sundays at 12:30 PM, after our Congregational Lunches

    Location: Church Parlor

    Our circle of 23 members meets monthly from September through May to enjoy fellowship and nurture our faith through the lessons in the PW/Horizons Bible study.  We may serve as Micah lunch makers, Congregation lunch caterers, Advent candle lighters, or in whatever other way our church needs us throughout the year.  We may also choose a worthy cause to donate to. Some members may also attend spring or fall retreats hosted by the women of the Presbytery of the James as well as the annual womens' retreat at Camp Hanover.


  • Faith Circle

    2nd Mondays at 1pm

    Faith Circle is a caring, friendly group of ladies who meet once a month for Bible study and fellowship.  We meet in the Fellowship Hall at 1:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each Month.  We take on projects to help support our church family and community.  New members are always welcome.


  • Pints and Parables

    1st Tuesdays in Even months, 6:00pm

    Location: Local breweries, announced in advance

    Join us for an informal gathering to discuss one of Jesus’s parables.  There’s no need to prepare – come enjoy community, conversation, and perhaps a pint!


    Our next gathering is October 6, 6pm at 6 Bears and a Goat, 1140 International Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA.


  • Women's Circle of Joyful Friendship and Prayer

    2nd Tuesdays at 1:30pm

    Please join us as we complete the current Presbyterian Women/Horizons Bible study on 1 Corinthians, United through Christ and Bound to Each Other.   Our goal is to be guided through prayerful reading, thinking, and discussion to unite through Jesus Christ in hope and faith. 


  • Faith and Movies

    3rd Wednesdays of the month, 10am

    What can we learn from the stories and characters portrayed in movies? How do these stories relate to our faith and how we live in the world? Watch the movie at home and come for the discussion!
